GM Group 2018 World Market Review
The GM group (Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac, Baojun, Wuling) has published its sales figures for the year 2018. Worldwide sales amounted to 8.38 million units, a decrease of 10.4% compared to 2017.

This decrease is mainly attributable to the sale of Opel-Vauxhall to the PSA group, which was recorded for the full 12 months of 2018. The GM group, now without sales in Europe, stands out clearly from the three world leaders, namely the Renault-Nissan, Volkswagen and Toyota groups. However, GM  remains the fourth largest manufacturer in the world.

The GM group's worldwide sales in 2018 can be broken down as follows:

1. China is its largest market, with 3.63 million vehicles, or 43% of its global sales.
2. The United States is its second largest market, with 2.95 million vehicles,35% of its worldwide sales.
3. Brazil is its third largest market, with 434,000 vehicles, 5% of its worldwide sales.

These three markets accounted for 83% of GM Group's worldwide sales in 2018, with 3.95 million Chevrolet, 1.30 million Buick, 0.65 million GMC, 0.40 million Cadillac and the remainder divided between Wuling (1.20 million) and Baojun (0.88 million). The GM group's best-selling models in 2018 were the Chevrolet Silverado (649,000 units), WulingHongguang (477,000 units), Chevrolet Equinox (438,000 units) and Baojun 510 (361,000 units).
