Inovev forecasts 20,000 new Toyota Pro Ace Citys per year
Toyota unveiled its new N1-1 segment light commercial vehicle based on the Citroën Berlingo, Peugeot Partner and Opel Combo. This new model named ProAce City (the N1-2 segment ProAce being based on the Citroën Jumpy, Peugeot Expert and Opel Vivaro) will be produced on the same assembly lines as the Citroën Berlingo, Peugeot Partner and Opel Combo, in the Spanish plant in Vigo, which will lose production of the Citroën C-Elysée and Peugeot 301 sedans, that will be transferred to the Moroccan site in Kenitra in a few weeks.

The new ProAce City will expand Toyota's offer in the light commercial vehicle category in the European market, which remains one of the most dynamic in the world.

In 2018, 2,128,000 LCVs were sold in Europe (29 countries) compared to 2,063,000 in 2017, 1,985,000 in 2016, 1,778,000 in 2015, 1,594,000 in 2014 and 1,440,000 in 2013.

Sales growth has been clear and steady since 2013. The increase in LCV registrations thus reaches nearly 50% between 2013 and 2018. Toyota's share of these sales is currently very small (1.5% of the market) but the arrival of ProAce City will undoubtedly double this market share.

The engines of the new Toyota ProAce City will be the same as those of the Citroën Berlingo, Peugeot Partner and Opel Combo. Inovev estimates that 20,000 units per year of the new Toyota ProAce City  will be produced in Vigo.
