BYD, today the world number 2 producer of BEVs behind Tesla, is very present on the (formerly) big European car show. BYD is in Geneva will present the following models :

Seal U: this model will be presented in its PHEV version, named DM-i. The 18,3 kWh battery of this 4,8 meter long SUV allows a pure electrical range of 100 km. Inovev estimates the European sales volume of the Seal U at around 20.000 units in 2030.

Tang: this 4,87 meter long premium SUV will be presented in an advanced version with faster recharge and a range of around 530 km. Inovev estimates the European sales volume of the Tang at around 7.000 units in 2030.

Yangwang U8: The premium brand of BYD will present its 5,32 meter long F-Segment SUV U8. This PHEV has four electric motors and a 49 kWh battery, which allows a 200 km range. This car seems more fitting for the American market than the European one. So far a date for the market start in Europe has not yet been announced. Inovev forecasts for the European market a volume of the U8 at around 1.000 in 2030.

Denza D9: The Joint Venture, created in 2010 by BYD and Mercedes, has already presented this PHEV-Minivan at the IAA in Munich 2023. It is 5,25 meter long and comes with a 40 kWh battery. Its European success is questionable as vans have less and less sales volume here. Inovev estimates the European sales volume of the D9 at around 1.500 in 2030.

Denza N7: This premium SUV is 4,8 meter long and is only available as a BEV, with a 390 kW strong electric motor and a 82,5 kWh battery, which allows a range of 1 000 km. A PHEV version was announced for 2023 but has not been marketed yet. It may be presented in Geneva. Inovev estimates the European sales volume of the N7 at around 1.500 units in 2030.
