The Suzuki group sold 3.25 million vehicles (passenger cars and light utility vehicles) in 2024
The Suzuki Group (Suzuki, Maruti) sold 3,248,317 vehicles (passenger cars and light utility vehicles) worldwide in 2024, compared to 3.07 million in 2023, representing a 5.8% year-on-year increase. Suzuki maintains its tenth place worldwide despite strong growth by Chinese carmakers Geely and Chery, which are now close behind.

Despite the absence of battery electric cars in its range, Suzuki has continued to progress over the past four years, thus getting closer to Honda and Nissan, which were much more powerful than it ten years ago.

Suzuki has benefited in recent years from the strong growth of the Indian market, in which it is largely dominant under the Maruti brand. This market has thus grown from 2.9 million units in 2020 to 3.8 million in 2021, 4.8 million in 2022, 5.1 million in 2023 and 5.2 million in 2024.

In 2024, Suzuki took advantage of the difficulties of its competitor Daihatsu earlier in the year, as both brands specialize in Kei Cars. Many Daihatsu customers then turned to Suzuki. This was all the more easily achieved as Suzuki has been a partner of the Toyota group for several years now. Here are some key points of their partnership:
1. Toyota and Suzuki exchange technologies, particularly in the area of engines and platforms.
2. Suzuki sells some rebadged Toyota models, such as the Suzuki Across (Toyota RAV4) and the Suzuki Swace (Toyota Corolla).
3. Toyota and Suzuki are working together on future electric vehicles, including a battery electric SUV planned for 2025.
4. The new battery electric SUV will be produced under both brands at the Suzuki factory in Gujarat, India.
