IAA Mobility Munich 2025: Renault: new Clio VI
Renault will present the sixth generation of the Clio at the Munich Motor Show. The brand's best-selling model for several decades will adopt a new design, inspired by the recent Captur and Symbioz models.

The new Clio will be based on the CMF-B platform but will abandon conventional petrol engines to focus on E-Tech hybrid versions (FHEV) to meet new European standards.

It should also be the last Renault Clio to adopt hybrid petrol engines, since the end of its career is scheduled for 2032 or 2033 at the latest. At that time, the 2035 deadline – which should ban the sale in Europe of cars with petrol or diesel combustion engines, even hybrid ones – will be very close.

The new Renault Clio will therefore not be offered in a battery electric version, and we will have to wait for the next generation to see a battery electric Clio appear.

Inovev expects 300,000 units per year of the new Clio, taking into account strong competition from the Captur and Symbioz SUVs, as well as competition from battery electric B-segment cars which will tend to progress over the next ten years.
