Inovev expects 50,000 annual sales of the new Audi Q8
Audi (a subsidiary of the Volkswagen group) unveiled its new high-end SUV, the Q8, which crowns the SUV range of the manufacturer currently composed of Q2, Q3, Q5, Q7.

The Q8 is sort of the coupe version of the Q7. It is therefore competing with the BMW X6 and Mercedes GLE coupe. It is 6cm shorter than the Q7 (4.99m against 5.05m), 3cm wider (2.00m against 1.97m) and 3cm lower (1.71m against 1.74m).

The Q8 is a few months ahead of the future coupé versions of Q3 and Q5, logically called Q4 and Q6. The Q8 marks the continuation of a broad offensive of the manufacturer in the field of SUVs.

Indeed, by 2022, Audi wants to offer eight variants of SUV on the Chinese market. Five of these eight future models will be produced locally and three will be imported from Europe (these will be the most upscale models: Q6, Q7, Q8). The Audi Q8 will be manufactured in Bratislava (Slovakia) alongside the Audi Q7 and Volkswagen Touareg.

The Q8, powered by a 340hp V6 3.0 petrol and a V6 diesel 3.0 V6 231hp and 286hp, will be launched simultaneously in China, Europe and North America, in the second half of 2018. It will be followed next year: a plug-in hybrid version (already available on the Q7) and a sporty SQ8 version with a diesel V8. 435hp. Inovev expects 50,000 annual sales, more than the BMW X6, which sells between 35,000 and 45,000 units  a year.
