IAA Mobility Munich 2025: Porsche: new battery electric Cayenne
The future Porsche Cayenne (E segment), expected in 2026, will be marketed for the first time in a battery electric version, two years after the launch of the Macan EV (D segment). It will be based on the PPE (Premium Platform Electric) platform, shared with the Macan EV and the Audi Q6 e- tron , but will have a completely new body inspired by that of the Macan (D segment) which allows us to say that this model will replace the current Cayenne whose origins date back to 2017 (2019 for the coupe).

Unlike the Macan, the future Cayenne will be available in a thermal version (3.0-liter turbo V6 and 4.0-liter turbo V8) and a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) in addition to its battery electric version planned for 2026. Porsche has chosen a strategy of coexistence of engines until at least 2030. Coexistence with thermal and hybrid versions should continue until 2030, from which date the battery electric version will be the only one to be marketed.

Regarding the battery electric version, it will use 800 V architecture for ultra-fast charging, and its power will allow a range of more than 700 km WLTP for the high-end versions.

The official launch is planned for 2026, with production planned for Bratislava, Slovakia.
