Inovev expects 70 000 annual sales for the new Ford Ecosport
The Ecosport is Ford’s current  B segment SUV. It dates from 2014 and the vehicles sold in Europe so far have come from the Ford factory in Chennai. This will change from the end of this year as the Ecosports  sold in Europe will come from Ford's Romanian factory in Craiova.

At this time, , the Ecosport will  restyled, adopting a grille inspired by that of the Kuga and receiving a two-tone painting, which is  very fashionable on B segment SUVs (Renault Captur, Citroën C3 Aircross, Opel Crossland, Seat Arona ).

This restyled version of the Ecosport was presented at the Frankfurt 2017 show. This model competes with all the segment B SUVs, such as Renault Captur, Peugeot 2008, Citroën C3 Aircross, Opel Crossland, Opel Mokka, Fiat 500 X, Seat Arona as well as the two Korean SUVs that will be marketed from the end of the year, Hyundai Kona and Kia Stonic.

Inovev  estimates that the Ford Ecosport  could be produced at 70,000 units per year at the Craiova site. Over the first 8 months of 2017, this model was sold at 43,000 units in Europe, which is equivalent to a volume of 60,000 units per year. The restyling and transfer to  a European site, as well as the continued growth of sales of SUVs on the European continent, should make it possible to achieve a higher volume of sales than today. So, like Meriva at Opel, the Ford B segment  MPV (B-Max) that is produced today  in Craiova seems seriously threatened.
