Inovev forecasts 50,000 new Ssangyong Korando per year
Ssangyong  (a subsidiary of Indian manufacturer Mahindra) is a modest- sized,  Korean manufacturer of SUVs , never exceeding 200,000 sales per year. Its current range includes the Tivoli (B segment), Korando (C segment), Rexton (D segment) and Rodius (E segment), as well as the Musso pickup truck ,which replaces the Actyon Sports.

At the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, Ssangyong presented the new generation of the Korando, whose style is strongly inspired by that of the Tivoli. The previous generation of the Korando was launched  in 2010.

This  new Ssangyong  SUV  is making a real  leap forward since ,for the first time ,it will be available in a 100% electric version. The Korando will  also be available in a petrol version (4 cylinders 1500 turbo) and a diesel version (4 cylinders 1600 turbo).

The Korando competes with the generalist SUVs in the C segment, such as the Nissan Qashqai, Toyota CHR, Honda HRV, Renault Kadjar, Peugeot 3008, Citroën C5 Aircross, Opel Grandland, Ford Kuga, Volkswagen T-Roc, Seat Ateca, Skoda Karoq, Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, none of which is currently available in a  100% electric version.

Ssangyong  Korando is produced in the manufacturer's Korean factory in Pyongtaek. Inovev expects annual production of 50,000 units per year, with 30,000 sold in Korea and 20,000 exported.
