Inovev expects 350,000 units a year from the new Skoda Octavia
- Skoda unveiled the new generation of the Skoda Octavia (sedan from C / D segment). This model has become over the years the best-selling car of the Czech carmaker range, as it now represents more than 30% of Skoda's worldwide sales. In 2019, there were just over 330,000 units of this model produced in the world, including 210,000 in the Czech Republic, 100,000 in China and 22,000 in Russia, excluding CKDs destined for India and of Ukraine.
- The Octavia more produced than the Fabia (less than 200,000 units in 2019) and Kodiaq (less than 200,000 units in 2019). Its replacement is therefore a critical operation for Skoda, which is why the new generation adopts a style very close to the old one, as for Volkswagen Golf.
- The new Octavia will still be produced in three main countries, the Czech Republic (MladaBoleslav), China (Shanghai) and Russia (Nizhny Novgorod). Inovev expects 350,000 units produced worldwide each year, most of them in the Czech Republic, where the Octavia is also the best-selling model in this market.
- The new Octavia will be equipped with petrol engines 1.0 TSI 3-cylinder of 110hp, 4 cylinders 1.5 TSI of 150hp, 4 cylinders 2.0 TSI of 190ch and diesel 4 cylinders 2.0 TDI of 115ch, 150ch and 200ch. During the summer of 2020, will appear new plug-in electric versions (PHEV - which already exists on the Superb) of 204hp and 245hp. The new Octavia will still be available as a station wagon, which is the best-selling station wagon in Europe.
