Mitsubishi sold 1,01 million vehicles in 2012
 
Global sales of Mitsubishi declined by 4% between April and December 2012, down to 724,000 units, a decrease of 11% in Japan (92 000 units), 24% in North America and 22% in Europe . They have, however, increased by 10% in Asia and other parts of the world.

 

Global sales of Mitsubishi totaled 1.01 million units in calendar year 2012, 34,000 units lower than previous estimates, but 170,000 units more than in 2011. Mitsubishi is the 13th manufacturer worldwide, just behind the BMW Group (11th) and Daimler (12th).

 

In view of this performance, Mitsubishi has adjusted its forecast for the full fiscal year, which ends at the end of March 2013: it expects a turnover of 1,810 billion yen (14.4 billion euros) , 20 billion yen less than originally planned, an operating profit of 64 billion (509.4 million euros), instead of 80 billion, while net profit is expected to be 13 billion yen (103.5 million), in line with previous forecasts.

 

Mitsubishi produced more than 1 million cars worldwide in 2012 (provisory data), including  600 000 in Japan and 300 000 in Thailand.
The carmaker has stopped its production in Australia and the Netherlands. Its plants in China, Russia and USA operate at very low levels.
