PSA will sell its first hybrid petrol models as of 2019
- Between 2012 and 2017, the PSA Group proposed models with diesel hybrid powertrains (3008, 508, DS 5), which reached a total of nearly 100,000 sales (or 17,000 units per year). However, the manufacturer has stopped manufacturing these models - the diesel engine is now highly criticized - and announced a new generation of hybrid models, rechargeable this time, and based on a petrol engine, the PSA 1600cc.
- The models equipped with this new rechargeable hybrid engine will be launched from 2019. They are Peugeot 3008, Peugeot 508, Citroen C5 Aircross and DS 7 Crossback. These models will all be sold in 2019. Inovev expects a volume of 260,000 sales of these plug-in hybrid models between 2019-2023 (52,000 units per year), which marks a clear improvement over sales of non rechargeable diesel hybrids.
- For smaller models, the PSA Group plans 100% electric versions, such as the DS 3 Crossback (2019), the Peugeot 208 (2019), the Peugeot 2008 (2020), the Opel Corsa (2020) and the Peugeot 308 (2021).
- An electric version of the future Peugeot 108 (Toyota design) could also be produced, just like the future Citroen C1. The Citroën C3 could also add an electric version during series production. The Citroën Berlingo, Peugeot Partner, Citroën Jumpy and Peugeot Expert utilities will also be electrified in 2020.
