IAA Mobility Munich 2025: Volkswagen: new T-Roc (the brand's first F-HEV model)
- T-Roc (B-segment SUV), which dates back to 2017, will be replaced in 2026 (2019 for the convertible). The new generation of this model will be longer than the current generation (4.37 m instead of 4.23 m). It will be marketed for the first time in a full-hybrid version (F-HEV) in 2026 and in a battery electric version (BEV) from 2028.
- These launches will be the occasion for a change in the prodution allocation of the model in Volkswagen factories from 2028. The Palmela site (Portugal) will be dedicated to the thermal and hybrid versions of the future T-Roc (in 2026) while the Wolfsburg site (Germany) will be dedicated to the battery electric versions of the future T-Roc (in 2028).
- Note that the future battery electric VW Golf will also be produced in Wolfsburg while its thermal and hybrid versions will be produced in Puebla, Mexico, alongside the VW Jetta.
- The carmaker will extend production of the thermal and hybrid Tiguans in Wolfsburg until 2033 or even 2035, but a battery electric version should be launched in 2026, also produced in Wolfsburg.
- Inovev forecasts a production of 300,000 units of the new Volkswagen T-Roc per year.
