Porsche Mission E Cross Turismo

- The Porsche Mission E Cross Turismo is based on the Porsche Mission E concept presented in 2015 at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

- However, the model is getting closer to the future serial version which should be marketed in 2019.

- It is also possible that two versions (sedan and station wagon) shall  be marketed, as is the case for the Panamera.

- The model is powered by two electric motors (600 hp in total) and an "800 volt" architecture is dedicated to fast charging of batteries.

- Autonomy is announced at more  than 500 km (NEDC).

2018 Geneva MotorShow - Hyundai

Hyundai Santa Fe

- Hyundai presents the new generation of the Santa Fe SUV (D-segment) that replaces the previous model launched in 2012.

- This SUV is located in the Hyundai  range between the Tucson and Grand Santa Fe.

- It competes with D segment SUVs  such as  Renault Koleos, VW Tiguan  Allspace, Skoda Kodiaq, Seat Tarraco, Ford Edge, Peugeot 5008, Citroen C5 Aircross and Kia Sorento.

- Even if the production of the model is planned for 2018, the Santa Fe will be marketed only starting in 2020 in France, because the current generation of engine would be  overly impacted by the current ecological  penalties.

Hyundai Kona Electric

- Hyundai wants to be present on all markets. After hybrid Ioniq and fuel cell (ix35 and Nexo) vehicles,  the Korean brand attacks the market of 100% electric vehicles with the new Hyundai Kona Electric.

- Derived from the thermal Kona, the Hyundai will offer two electric engines:

• a basic version with a 136 hp electric motor powered by a battery of 39.2 kWh, for an announced  range of 312 km (NEDC)

• a "long range" version with a 204 hp motor powered by a   64 kWh battery, for a range of 482 km.

- The model will be produced in the Ulsan plant and will be marketed in Europe in 2018.

Hyundai Nexo

- Presented for the first time at the beginning of the year at the CES in Las Vegas, the Hyundai Nexo makes its first appearance at  an auto  show in Geneva.

- Hyundai  is presenting here the replacement of the ix35 fuel cell.

- It is a D segment SUV whose batteries are powered by hydrogen.

- This vehicle should be marketed in 2018, in its  target market, the USA, but also  in Europe. It is true that the fuel cell solution is not the preferred one for 100% electric vehicles, however some countries, such as Germany, have committed to installing stations in the coming years, which could lead to a market niche.

2018 Geneva MotorShow - Audi

Audi A6

- After the renewal of the Audi A4, A5 and  A7, the new Audi A6 is the latest sedan of the MLB brand to be renewed.

- This E segment sedan competes with the BMW 5 Series, Mercedes E Class, Volvo S90,  and Jaguar XF.

- Designed with a body composed of a mixture of aluminum and steel parts, the A6  will  have  two engines (diesel and gasoline) coupled with the  48V mild  hybrid system.

- The new  Audi A6, like  the previous generations, will  be available  as well in an Allroadversion  as of next year.

Audi e-tron prototype

- Audi presents the prototype (very close to  series) of its first specifically developed ,100% electric  model, the Q6.

- The standard version of this SUV, which is expected to be marketed in Europe at the end of 2018, will  feature a battery with a power of 150 kW.

- This model  enlarges  the range of Audi electric vehicles that will  consist of three vehicles in 2020:, with a four-door sedan, and a compact sedan in addition to this SUV. The objective for Audi is to present a range of 20 electrified vehicles (100% electric + plug-in hybrid) as of 2025.

According to Inovev, the Sprinter should keep its 7% market share

- Mercedes unveiled the new generation of its Sprinter van (N1-3 segment) which fits in the range above the Citan (N1-1) and Vito (N1-2). This new generation of Sprinter replaces the previous generations launched in 1995 and 2006. The silhouette of the vehicle remains the same and the production site is still the factory in Düsseldorf. Since 2013, the Mercedes Sprinter has been produced at an average of 140,000 units each year, whereas in the early 2000s (until 2008) the production volume was between 120,000 and 130,000 units. In fact, the Sprinter has benefited both from the revival of the European market for light commercial vehicles observed since 2013 and from a rise in notoriety against some of its competitors (Ford Transit, Fiat Ducato, VW Crafter, Renault Master, Opel Movano, Citroën Jumper, Peugeot Boxer), so that its share of the LCV market in Europe has progressively increased from 6% in the early 2000s to 7% today. According to Inovev, the Sprinter should keep this 7% market share (140,000 units per year).

- The engines of the new Sprinter are the following: a 4-cylinder 2.15 liter diesel developing 114hp, 143hp and 163hp ( compared to 109hp, 129hp and 150hp on the previous generation ) and a 3.0 liter V6 diesel developing 190hp (vs 184hp previously). In addition, a 100% electric version will be available as of 2019 (eSprinter). This will be the second electric model in the German brand's utility line after the Mercedes eVito launched in 2018.
