Inovev plans 80,000 units per year of the new Fiat Doblo
Fiat has presented its new N1-1 segment light utility vehicle, which is the third generation of the Doblo, following the first launched in 2000 and the second in 2010.
Integration into the Stellantis group obliges, the new Doblo takes over the bodywork, the EMP2 platform and the engines of the Citroën Berlingo, Peugeot Partner, Opel Combo and Toyota ProAce City, including the 100% electric engine (with the same battery capacity: 50 kWh). Thermal engines including the 1.2 petrol and 1.5 liter diesel already known in the PSA era.
Like these models, the new Doblo, which will be available in LCV (goods transport) and VP (passenger transport) versions, will be manufactured at the Spanish site in Vigo and no longer at the Turkish site in Bursa.
The Doblo had lost a lot of influence in recent years, its production volume having gradually increased from 140,000 units in 2007 to 80,000 in 2014 and 65,000 in 2021. The model will therefore take the place of the Citroën C4 SpaceTourer on the site de Vigo from July 2022, since Stellantis has announced the removal of this minivan from its catalog.
With the arrival of the new Fiat Doblo, the range of light commercial vehicles of Stellantis is now completely homogeneous, since the models of the N1-1 segment are all identical, as are those of the N1-2 segment and those of the N1-3 segment.
Inovev expects 80,000 Fiat Doblo sales per year, compared with 80,000 Citroën Berlingo sales in 2021, 80,000 Peugeot Partner/Rifter sales, 40,000 Opel Combo sales and 20,000 Toyota sales ProAce City.
