Infiniti wants to take advantage of the « Premium » segment growth

Nissan will produce in the UK  a new compact car for its Infiniti brand from 2015 on (forecasted sales: 60,000 units per year).

The investment is over 250 million pounds (307 million euros) and will create 1,000 jobs in total, including 280 on the site of Sunderland.

The new vehicle will compete with the Mercedes A-Class, BMW 1 Series and Audi A3 in particular.

The Sunderland plant will therefore produce five models in 2015: Qashqai, Juke, Note, Leaf and Infiniti compact. The plant capacity is currently 470,000 vehicles per year.
