Stellantis will produce a new Toyota LCV based on the Fiat Ducato from 2024
The Stellantis and Toyota groups have been collaborating for several years in the field of LCVs (light utility vehicles).
In the N1-1 segment, which represents small light commercial vehicles, the Toyota ProAce City borrows its bodywork and engines from the Citroën Berlingo, Peugeot Partner, Opel Combo and future Fiat Doblo. This vehicle is produced at the Spanish site in Vigo, alongside these models.
In the N1-2 segment, which represents medium-sized light utility vehicles, the Toyota ProAce borrows its bodywork and engines from the Citroën Jumpy, Peugeot Expert, Opel Vivaro and more recently Fiat Scudo. This vehicle is produced at the French site in Valenciennes alongside these models.
In the N1-3 segment, which represents large light commercial vehicles, there was currently no Toyota model based on the Stellantis group models. The Stellantis and Toyota groups have therefore just decided to extend their partnership in this category. The new Toyota LCV which will top off the ProAce and ProAce City range from 2024 will borrow its bodywork and engines from the Citroën Jumper, Peugeot Boxer, Fiat Ducato and more recently Opel Movano. The new Toyota LCV, whose name is not yet known, will be produced at the Polish site in Gliwice and at the Italian site in Val di Sangro alongside its counterparts from the Stellantis group.
The production volume of Toyota LCVs in Europe did not exceed 69,000 units in 2021, compared to 250,000 Fiats, 225,000 Citroëns, 210,000 Peugeots and 154,000 Opels.
