Toyota 2020-2023 Product Plan for North America
The 2020-2023 product plan for the Toyota brand in the North American market is very dynamic, with 15 major launches, divided into 8 novelties and 7 restylings of existing models.

Regarding the new features, the second generation of the Mirai fuel cell sedan will be launched in 2020. It will resume, as we have already announced, the body of the Toyota Crown sedan slightly modified, in an attempt to trivialize the technique of the fuel cell which remains today very marginal. The Sienna minivan will be renewed the same year. This minivan is one of the most popular in North America, with the Dodge Caravan and the Honda Odyssey.

The GT86 coupe will be renewed in 2021, in association with Subaru which will launch the second generation of its BRZ close to the GT86. The SUV version of the Yaris, which will also be seen in Europe, will be launched the same year. The big Tundra pick-up should finally be renewed that year, even if its distribution will remain limited. The year 2022 will be the restyling of the Camry and Avalon sedans and the very popular RAV4 SUV. The big SUV Sequoia will be renewed that year, a year after the Tundra pickup, from which it is derived.

The year 2023 will be the year of restyling Prius and Supra (cut). Recall that the Supra is manufactured in Europe, at Magna-Steyr (Austria) and that it shares its platform with the BMW Z4. Three major models will be launched in 2023: the SUV 4-Runner and Land Cruiser, and especially the Tacoma pick-up which is one of the most popular mid-class pickups in North America.

Lexus 2020-2023 Product Plan for North America
The 2020-2023 Lexus (Toyota Group Premium brand) product plan for the North American market is as dynamic as the Toyota brand product plan, with 7 launches and 4 restylings.

Remember that, unlike the Toyota brand, Lexus models are all imported from Japan with the exception of two: the sedan ES (derived from the Camry) that is manufactured in the US and the SUV RX (derived from RAV4) that is manufactured in Canada.

Lexus has sold a total of 300,000 cars to the US in 2018, a number close to that of BMW or Mercedes.

The year 2020 will be marked by the renewal of the IS sedan (D segment) and the launch of a cabriolet version of the LC coupe. By 2021, the LC coupe and LS sedan (F segment) should be renewed. The SUV NX (segment D) will be renewed the same year.

The year 2022 will be the restyling of the sedan ES that derives from the Toyota Camry. The Camry will be restyled at the same time. Both models should be renewed in 2025. The year 2022 will also be the renewal of the RC coupe (derived from the IS sedan) and SUV GX (derived from the Toyota Land Cruiser).

The year 2023 will be that of the restyling of the SUV UX (segment C) which is derived from the SUV Toyota CHR widely diffused in Europe. This restyling will take place three years after that of the Toyota CHR launched three years earlier.

Finally, the year 2023 will see the renewal of SUV RX (derived from Toyota RAV4) and LX (derived from Toyota Land Cruiser SW).

All Lexus models are and will be available in a non-rechargeable hybrid engine.

Infiniti 2020-2023 Product Plan for North America
The 2020-2023 product plan for the Infiniti brand (Nissan Group Premium brand) in the North American market focuses on SUVs, as it does for its Nissan parent company. Indeed, of the 7 models that Infiniti plans to launch during this period, 5 are SUVs and only 2 are sedans.

Of these 7 models, all will be completely renewed, even the big SUV QX70 (ex-FX35-45), the most emblematic model of the brand since it had launched the concept of SUV-coupe since 2008. This model was removed from the catalog in 2018 without descendants.

However, Infiniti will not replace the Q30 / QX30 sedans (C-segment) that were unsuccessful in the North American market.

Infiniti has sold a total of 150,000 cars in the US in 2018, which is two times less than Lexus, BMW or Mercedes but the brand intends to remain in North America, while it has just disappeared from the European market.

The year 2020 will see the launch of a coupe version of the SUV QX50 marketed since 2018. More and more manufacturers are releasing such versions coupe from their original SUV.

In 2021, Infiniti plans to renew its SUV QX60 which was its best sale in 2018.

The year 2022 will be rich in novelties, since Infiniti will renew the Q50 and Q70 sedans, whose origins date back to 2013, and will launch a new 100% electric SUV based on Nissan Leaf, a year after an equivalent model at Nissan.

In 2023, the big SUV QX70 and QX80 will be renewed. The QX70 will have waited for its replacement since 2018.

The year 2021 will also be marked by the launch of an unprecedented 100% electric SUV based on Nissan Leaf. SUV Kicks and Murano will be renewed in 2022.
