Geneva Motorshow 2017: VW Arteon and VW Tiguan Allspace
- The new Volkswagen Arteon sedan (E Segment) is the successor to the Volkswagen CC (formerly the Passat CC) launched in 2008 (life cycle of 9 years).
- By acquiring a new name and a more personal style, it is moving away from the original Passat model, opening a new market segment for VW, the E segment, where the BMW 5 Series, Mercedes E-Class, Audi A6 , Volvo S90 / V90 and Jaguar XF are prospering .
- The new SUV Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace(D segment) will make its first European appearance at the Geneva Motor Show.
- It is an elongated version of the Tiguan and capable of carrying 7 people (instead of 5 for the short version).
- The Allspace thus moves from C segment to D segment as does the Skoda Kodiaq (with which it shares the platform and engines), the Peugeot 5008 or the Renault Koléos.

- The new model is keeping the platform and many of the components from the old Yaris.
- 40% of Yaris sales are made in gasoline-electric hybrid version and this proportion could rise even further , while the diesel version has been discontinued.

- The new generation of the Seat Ibiza (B segment) is the successor to the old model launched in 2008 (life cycle of 9 years).
- This new model is the first on the MQB-A0 platform of the Volkswagen group, which will be used on all B-segment cars in the group, such as the future VW Polo, Skoda Fabia and Audi A1.
- The Seat Ibiza competes with the Ford Fiesta, Opel Corsa, Renault Clio, Peugeot 208, Citroen C3 and of course VW Polo and Skoda Fabia.
