Assessment of Sales in Russia (PC+LUV) for the first 6 months of 2015
- The Russian automotive market (PC + LUV) fell sharply in the first half of 2015 (-36.4%) compared to the same period last year. It thus dropped to 782 000 units against 1 230 000 units in the first half of 2014 and 1 333 000 units in the first half of 2013.
- Most manufacturers recorded a breathtaking decrease, like Honda (-77%), which has just announced its permanent withdrawal of Russia, PSA (-75%), Suzuki (-73%), GM (-66%), which is pulling out of the Russian market, FCA (-59%), Geely (-58%), Subaru (-57%), Ford (-56%), Mitsubishi (-50%), Mazda (-47%), Tata (-45%) and Volkswagen (-40%). Five groups are doing better than the market, but most of them are experiencing significant declines Toyota (-34%), Renault-Nissan (-28%), BMW (-25%), Hyundai-Kia (-15%). Only Daimler remains almost stable (-3%).
- The market leader remains the Renault-Nissan group with its Lada , Renault, Nissan, Infiniti and Datsun brands, but its market share (34.5%) remains the lowest compared to previous years and in relation to the objective set by the manufacturer (40%). The second group of this market is Hyundai-Kia (20%) and Volkswagen (10%). These three groups alone account for two-thirds of registrations on the Russian market.
- By model, the LadaGranta remains the first in terms of sales (64 000 units), ahead of the Hyundai Solaris (54 000 units), Kia Rio (43 000 units), LadaKalina , at the end of its life cycle (21 000 units), VW Polo (21 000 units), Renault Logan (20 000 units) and Renault Duster (20 000 units).

- In the first half of 2015 production (PC + LUV) in Italy reached 441 000 units against 337 000 units the previous year, an increase of 30.8% or 104 000 additional units. The production of passenger cars (PC) increased by 41.1% to 286 000 units and that of light utility vehicles (LUV) increased by 15.3% to 155 000 units.
- By group, the share of FCA continues to dominate in Italy, with a share of 84% of local production (against 82% in 2014). The leading group managed to increase its share in the Italian productiondespite the permanent production shutdown of Lancia models in the country. FCA has indeed started manufacturing the Jeep Renegade and Fiat 500X on its Melfi site, and these vehicles have been successful not only in Europe but also in North America where the Jeep brand is very present.
- The sharp increase in production of Maserati (after expanding its range with the Ghibli) also benefited the restart of the production in Italy of FCA (FCA owns Maserati since 1993). But it is still far away from production figures achieved by Italy in the early 2000s, the relocation of the popular Fiat 500 and LanciaYpsilon Fiat 500L in Poland and Serbia have reduced the influence of the car industry in Italy.
- By model, the Fiat Panda remains the most produced car in Italy (+ 12.2% to 102 000 units), followed by the Fiat Ducato utility vehicle (+ 22.5% to 64 000 units), the Fiat Punto (-5 , 3% to 50 000 units) whose influence has reduced year on year and the new Jeep Renegade (49 000 units) whose production started in the second half of 2014.

Assessment of Sales in Spain (PC+LUV) for the first 6 months of 2015
- The Spanish automotive market (PC + LUV) increased by 23.2% in first half of 2015 compared to the same period last year. It exceeded 626 000 units (against 508 000 the previous year).
- All market segments are growing. The strongest increase is to the benefit of the A segment (+ 42% to 31 000 units) and the LUV segment (+ 34% to 69 000 units), indicating that economic recovery is underway in the country . In terms of bodies following the European trend, the SUV category was up sharply (+ 47.8% to 132 000 units) while the MPV category saw a modest increase of 5% (62 000 units).
- By group, Volkswagenis the leader of the Spanish market, and rose by 16.6% (138 000 units), ahead of Renault-Nissan (+ 35.5% to 113 000 units), PSA (+ 12.5% to 93 000 units), GM (+ 11.1% to 47 000 units) and Ford (+ 33.2% to 47 000 units). By brand, Volkswagen (54 000 units), ahead of Renault (52 000 units), Peugeot (49 000 units), Ford (47 000 units), Opel (47 000 units) and Seat (47 000 units).
- By model, two Seat models are leading the market, the Seat Leon (20 000 units) and Ibiza (19 000 units), ahead of the VW Golf (16 000 units), VW Polo (14 000 units), Opel Corsa (13,000 units), Dacia Sandero (13 000 units), Renault Clio (13 000 units), Nissan Qashqai (12 000 units) and Renault Megane (12 000 units).

- The Italian automotive market (PC + LUV) increased by 14.9% in first half of 2015 compared to the same period last year. It exceeded 927 000 units (against 807 000 the previous year).
- All market segments are growing. The highest increases are to be attributed to the B segment (+ 19.9% to 411 000 units) and D-segment (+ 20.7% to 61 000 units), which is however not represented inside the Fiat range. In terms of bodies, following the European trend, the SUV category was up sharply (+ 39.7% to 210 000 units) while the MPV category saw a decrease of 6.9% (to 85 000 units).
- By brand, Fiat, the traditional leader of the Italian market, rose by 11.4% (204 000 units), far ahead of Volkswagen (+ 8.3% to 69 000 units), Ford (+ 20.2% to 66 000 units), Renault (+ 21.5% to 59 thousand units), Peugeot (+14.9 to 52 000 units) and Opel (+ 16.7% to 51 000 units). The FCA Group alone holds 29% of the Italian market, but that market share was still much larger ten or fifteen years.
- By model, the top five models sold are FCA Group models with the Fiat Panda (up 20% to 67 000 units), Fiat 500L (stable at 33 000 units), LanciaYpsilon (+ 14.5% to 32 000 units), Fiat Punto (+ 1.8% to 31 000 units) and Fiat 500 (-3.4% to 28 000 units). Fiat 500 and Fiat 500L are suffering from the direct competition of the new Fiat 500X (14 000 units).
