Lancia gradually disappears from the European market
- After disappearance from the European market of Saab, Daihatsu and Chevrolet brands, the Lancia brand - in accordance with the announcement made by the group management FCA – vanishes also progressively from this market.
- On the one hand, sales of Lancia recorded a continuous decline over the past fifteen years: they were divided by three since 2000 and by two since 2009. They fell down to 60 000 units in 2015 (including 56 000 in Italy) .
- On the other hand, the Lancia range has been reduced to mere Ypsilon(A/B segment sedan).
The Delta (C/D segment sedan), Thema(E segment sedan) and Voyager (E segment MPV) were stopped in 2015.
The Ypsilon (whose origins date back to 2011) was restyled at the same time, which is a sign of a programmed end of career in 2019.

Opel launches the new generation Zafira
- Details
Opel launches the new generation Zafira
- In order to replace its compact MPV Zafira (whose launch dates back to 2011), Opel has acted in the same way as for the replacement of its Corsa in 2014. It has kept the same platform as the old model’s one, while however providing enough cosmetic changes in the body so that the new model can be clearly differentiated from the old one.
- The new generation of the compact MPV Zafira (which is not any more named ZafiraTourer), launched in 2016, is scheduled for a career of four to five years, while it could have been assumed, on the basis of the 2015 production figures, that this model would be abandoned without descendants.
- Finally, in the same way as Renault, Opel decided to include in the C segment the widest possible range of vehicles to cover the largest share of this segment: a compact MPV (Zafira), a compact SUV (name yet unknown), a compact sedan (Astra) and a compact station wagon (Astra Tourer).
- The new Zafira will, as previously, be manufactured in Rüsselsheim (Germany) at the rate of 60,000 units per year on average, while the future compact SUV will be produced in Peugeot Sochaux (France). The Astra is produced on two different sites: Gliwice (Poland) and Ellesmere Port (England).

On the basis of regularly received orders, Renault plans to produce between 100 000 and 150 000 Kwid per year on the Indian site of Chennai, shared between Renault, Datsun and Nissan.
- The Kwid is currently the cheapest Renault model sold in the world, and the manufacturer indicates that this was made possible in particular because the hourly wage cost in India is less than 10% of that charged in France. In addition, 98% of the suppliers for this model are Indian and their prices is aligned with that of the existing workforce at the plant in Chennai.
- For Renault, India is only the first step in the commercial development of Kwid. At the end of 2016, this model will be assembled in Brazil in the group's factory for the local market. Then he will be assembled in 2017 in Iranfor the local market.
- Finally, it should be launched in Europe in 2018 under the Dacia logo in time as an entry level model of the brand. It will come from the Moroccan factory of the group located in Tangier. An assembly in Russia (Moscow) is also planned for local sales only (under the Renault brand). In total, 300,000 Kwid could be assembled each year worldwide from 2020.
